After years of scouring the internet for the perfect C6 Z06, I finally found 'the one' at a local enthusiast-focused specialty dealership and the rest was history.
The car was in immaculate condition, low miles and completely bone stock. While extremely capable in stock trim, my first impression was that the OEM Exhaust was rather underwhelming (even with the OEM NPP valves forced open) and need of upgrade. Like many hardcore enthusiasts, I spend hours researching different exhaust systems and fell in love with the Corsa Sport Exhaust. That feeling carried over and compounded upon first start up. WOT pulls were absolutely intoxicating and much to my delight, cruising/highway driving were very docile with absolutely no drone. The driving experience was completely transformed for the better.
While 505hp packed in such a light chassis certainly packs a punch, I wanted more. GM's legendary LS7 can effortlessly make gobs of power and torque in N/A form via a proper Heads/Cam set up and considering the concern of valve issues, I knew it was time to have the Heads addressed and add while we were at it.
WHEELS / TIRES
Weld Racing V-Series Front Runners - 18x6
Weld Racing Vitesse Beadlocks - 15x10
Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R Tires - 26x6R18
Mickey Thompson ET Street R Tires - 325/50/15
With 605whp, traction often becomes an issue. The OEM wheels and (abysmal) Goodyear Eagle Run-Flats were swapped out for a set of GM Cup Wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, which were transformational, both in terms of performance and aesthetics.
