Product Description

Upgrade the braking performance of your BMW G8X M2, M3, or M4 with the GiroDisc 380mm Two-Piece Front Rotor Kit. Designed as a direct replacement for vehicles equipped with factory iron brakes, these fully floating rotors retain the factory 380mm diameter and OEM brake calipers while improving cooling capability and reducing unnecessary rotating and unsprung mass.

Each rotor uses GiroDisc's proprietary high-carbon iron friction ring paired with a lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum center hat. The two-piece construction allows the iron ring to be replaced independently when worn, allowing the aluminum hat to be reused and reducing long-term service costs.

Cooling performance is a major advantage of the GiroDisc design. Each rotor incorporates 72 curved internal cooling vanes compared with just 30 vanes in the factory discs. These directional vanes act as a centrifugal pump, drawing air through the center of the rotor and helping evacuate heat during repeated hard braking.

The fully floating mounting system allows the friction ring to expand independently as temperatures increase while maintaining proper alignment with the brake pads. GiroDisc uses high-strength alloy-steel drive pins, spring clips, and spring washers to provide the thermal benefits of a race-oriented floating rotor while remaining quiet enough for street use.

For G8X owners looking for a brake upgrade without moving to a complete big brake kit, GiroDisc's A1-282 provides improved thermal management, serviceability, and motorsport-derived construction while retaining the factory calipers and brake system architecture.
